Depending on the drug, 0.01-100% of the drug is in a free form not bound to plasma proteins. For example, warfarin and many anti-inflammatory analgesics are over 97% bound in the plasma. Acidic drugs usually bind to albumins and basic drugs to orosomucoid (an acidic alpha-1-glycoprotein), but plasma also contains other proteins that bind to drugs.
